This is the wife.  AA has my age wrong - I'm actually 85.  Absolutely, a different erotic and pleasant activity to try and I sure hope you have nice sensations.  We Googled about tit-tying, and saw several sources that said while it's erotic and pleasureable, letting the boobs turn purple is not a good thing as circulation can be impacted.  So we have further experimenting to do, such as your velcro idea, and today my husband is going to guy some small dog collars and velcro.
